2/10
This is the review I will be posting on every site I can find:
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Irving, Texas, and I can confidently say it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was hit with an overwhelming smell of mold that was both unwelcoming and alarming. It set a dreadful tone for what was to follow.
The situation in the room was no better. Despite setting the air conditioning to a frigid 51 degrees, the unit only managed to blow hot, humid air. Instead of relief, we were met with a musty odor that permeated the room, making it feel damp and uncomfortable. Everything from the sheets to the pillows became coated in moisture, creating an environment that was anything but restful.
After an exhausting 24-hour journey from Rome to Berlin, then to Newark, Dulles, and finally to DFW, we were desperate for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, the conditions at this hotel made that impossible. We only managed to catch a few hours of sleep, and even then, it was far from restful due to the discomfort.
The only reason we didn't leave was sheer exhaustion. If it hadn't been for the toll of our travels, we would have sought refuge elsewhere.
In conclusion, the DoubleTree by Hilton in Irving, Texas, failed on multiple fronts: cleanliness, comfort, and basic hospitality. I would highly advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice and seek accommodations elsewhere.
