We had a one night stay here while traveling. It was a very nice surprise to see all the effort with the nice upgrades inside and outside. Clean, comfortable, safe, reasonably priced and within easy driving distance to Shasta City, downtown Dunsmuir and Castle Craig. The bed had soft, comfortable bedding and a great mattress. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.
I was a little concerned when checking in and they asked for pictures of my id and a selfie to verify that I am who I am. However, once I rolled into town, the situation became clear. After an online check in, they gave me my room number and the code to get in. While this was very convenient, I kind of like checking in with hotel staff in person. The room was very clean and very comfortable. For this area, it is a great deal...and caters to the anglers out there. My only complaint is with the town...it appears that they have lost several of the dining options and the only things available on a tuesday night were fast food/hamburger joints. Do-able...but I was craving a beer at the local brewery which supposedly has good food.
Solo trip to do some hiking on Mt Shasta and Castle Crag. This property is centrally located to both. Very clean. Has been recently renovated. I was given a ADA accessible room. Which was fine, larger bathroom with tub and on first floor. Only negative was no where to sit but on bed. No table or desk. But, overall great value for money. I would recommend it.
The inside of this room is super cute. It's clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again. The upstairs neighbors kept us awake most of the night, but once I called the front desk and complained at 1:30 AM, the front desk called them and took care of it. Super cute little room.
I didn't like that there was no door to the sink area. If the curtains are open to bring in a little light the view of the bathroom is wide open for all to see. If you put the door back in the frame this would offer more privacy in that area. I like the "idea" of no door there, (the door itself will be in the way), but functionally, with the big window there, you need privacy in that area. Maybe a curtain on a tension rod that one can slide open or closed for more privacy is a good solution. Thank you!
