Not what we expected....
My 7 year old grandson chose The Cartoon Network Hotel as his summer vacation place to stay. He loved the concept, his room and the whole experience. As an adult, sadly we see things in a different light than children. For as much as they tell me how clean and sanitized the rooms are, ours was not. The rooms you sleep in are the old motel rooms from the Continental Inn, the rooms were built in 1971. Dutch Wonderlands parent company bought the property & gutted the original motel rooms and completely refurbished them all. They built a new huge lobby with the Cartoon Network logo on it. Sadly because of staffing or my bad luck we missed all of the character dress up things they have. We were there Monday to Wednesday morning, there are no character things those days. Also Monday through Wednesday the restaurant is fully closed. I believe a cafe has something small for breakfast Mondays. Another problem was with the pool and it closing for thunder. I agree your outdoor pool should close for thunder, but the indoor pool also? Yes, my grandson and I were not allowed in the indoor pool because it was going to rain. So I have to think, "Why have an indoor pool at all"? Now we did use the indoor pool on Tuesday & Wednesday, my grandson LOVED the pool and had a great time in there. I feel sad for him missing out on eating there and seeing the characters from the television show. So I believe your kids would love their time there, I hope you can see the hotel through their eyes!
