This is a great older hotel. The building is older and has an old charm; the reception and restaurant are in one part/building and the rest in an attached high rise next to it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool patio is nice. The breakfast is not included so we didn't partake, but the coffee is complimentary and the restaurant area looked nice. There are a few eateries/bakery/coffee shop and Mexican restaurant across the street. Oh, and the Truist Stadium is an easy walk away.
Overall it was very good. The room was spacious but needs work. The plug for the coffee maker did not work. Did make coffee using the plug in the bathroom. Bed comfortable. The constant slamming of exterior doors on other rooms very annoying. Breakfast selection not worth the extra cost.
Place was nice as were staff, but while my room smelled fine when I checked in, it later smelled like marijuana, which lasted all night and finally went away in the morning. Undoubtedly another guest, but not pleasant also, door didn't block sound at all so I could here other guests in the hallway all night long.
I had a room with no closet or rolling clothes closet.
I literly had no place to hang clothes!
There was a large bare wall area where a portable closet should have gone but nothing was in the room.
I called the front desk to obtain a portable closet to hang clothes on but was told I should change rooms. I was in a room beside an elderly female friend that was glad I was near if needed.
I asked a room maid if a closet could be brought to my room and she said she would. She did not!
Why a room was given to a customer with no place to hang clothes is beyond me.
I took my clothes and layed they over the rooms' table to stop wrinkling.
I found it strange there was no portabe closet to be found in the entire hotel.
Placing clothes over a table is a terrible way to stop wrinkling!
Need more staff. No valet for elderly or handicapped visitors. I have to take oxygen with me and equipment is heavy. Nobody to assist. Sweet young lady named Anna left front to help me. Checkout took several trips to car. Left main oxygen to heavy to bring in myself. Steps to elevators. Steps to front desk. No valet carts. They canât do steps. Furnish wagons or something.
