This property is awful. There are no smoking signs everywhere, but there was the reek of smoke throughout the property and butts all over our back door. Staff members were yelling and arguing when we tried to check in, fighting in the hall, smoking at the back doors, and were eating the breakfast while we waited to make a waffle. Room furniture was broken, hall carpet was stained and smelled disgusting, dogs everywhere⊠This was absolutely awful! Never again!!!!
When we showed up it looked from the outside almost abandon. We were given a 2nd floor room and on the way to the room the carpets were dirty and the ice machine was out of order. They don't have an elevator so it took a few trips on the narrow set of dirty stairs.
When getting into the room which looked like nothing had changed since the 70's there was a torn condom wrapper on the floor. We pulled back the sheets and there were hairs. A pillow had blood on it and it was clear housekeeping never changed the sheets. The whole experience was overwhelming for my wife and we checked out right away. The person at the front desk was nice and understood the situation apologized up and down and she had a disappointed look on her face. We mentioned the bad experience we had to our server after we checked into another hotel and they said, "Was that at the Red Lion?" I guess locals know of the conditions of the Red Lion.
Needs exterior and interior work. Hallways are filthy, and the room wasn't much better. Looks closed as you drive up. Looks like a homeless encampment back behind the property. Not pleasant.
Seems to more of a long-stay boarding place than a motel. Pool was nice, room was roomy and clean, dogs in other rooms barked most of night, dog poop around some entrances. most cars in parking lot look old and wornout. carry ear plugs. Breakfast is cereal, cereal bars and a waffle maker. If something runs out, that's it for the morning. In a word: overpriced.
I think Expedia is remiss in not mentioning that less than 1/2 of this property is even open. I showed up at sunset and thought the whole place was abandoned - concrete barriers out front, maybe 2 cars in the parking lot! That's as close as I've come to checking into the "Hotel California". Staff was nice, but whole place needs to be updated.
This property is long past its expiration date. They have full time residence living here. These residence have dogs that bark constantly. Homeless trying to break into the vending machine. Do not stay here.
Just an really old, tired hotel. Smells like smoke, rugs should have been replaced 20 years ago. Our room had a broken board on the wood that kept scraping my foot.
The place was full of homeless lookibg people, so I was concerned about the satety of my vehicle.
Basically, if you can afford better, try to get another place.
I will say that I appreciate the workers there. I had originally booked a room with 1 king bed, this was going to be way too small, so we asked to be moved to a room with 2 queens. The workers found us a room, they were appreciated
the moment you walk into the hotel it smells of smoke, the carpets not to mention were diiiirty. The room was dark, not much light or light fixtures to light up the room. I ended up just leaving and checking into another hotel.
Staff was friendly.
People crawling in and out of open widow on 1st floor. Security risk?
Run down condition. Smell in room.
Desk chair kept flopping backwards. No support.
I won't be returning.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Dirty dirty dirty, bugs in bathtub floor was sticky toilet didnât flush and tub didnât drain.
100% do not stay here.
Literally stay anywhere else besides here.
This hotel needs some serious updates. Half of it was shut down being deemed âunsafeâ and what wasnât shut down should have been due to broken or uncleanliness.
The staff was so incredibly nice and really tried but I donât think they have the right resources, training and support to adequately take care of guests.
