My stay at the âbates motelâ super 8 was the worst night of my life. Was afraid to turn off the lights but stepped on a large bug anyway. The furniture is typical of what you find at the curb on trash day. Bedspread should have been trashed 30 years ago. Somewhat clean but a dump never less. Wouldnât bring any suitcases in. Noise outside was unbearable all night long. Even a train with horn in the middle of the night. My advice is sleep in your car at a rest stop. Way better.
Clean hotel. Good value versus other choices in the area. Easy on off from Interstate. Lots of food choices in area. Only knock was free breakfast was poor.
Some of the staff were decent, but others acted like helping guests was a burden. Several times I was completely ignored while they scrolled on their phones. The worst moment was when I walked into the lobby with an armful of towels due to no room service and, without saying a word, was snapped at with, âYou have to get those from housekeeping in the morning.â No greeting, no offer to helpâjust pure attitude. The level of rudeness and laziness was unacceptable
If youâre looking for quiet, this is not the place. The hotel is on a busy intersection and right next to a fire/police/ambulance stationâsirens blared multiple times a day. Add in traffic and loud cars, and it was impossible to get restful sleep. Definitely not a relaxing stay
Worst hotel experience in 25 years of travel. Room service was unreliableâpromised but rarely delivered. Different shifts gave conflicting answers, and when they finally showed up, all they did was drop towels and take out trashâno soap, toilet paper, or cleaning. When I asked for vacuuming, I was met with rudeness and was told to do it myself. Completely unacceptable.
Some of the staff here are truly great, even while working through a few hurdles. The manager clearly cares and puts in a lot of effort to support the team and ensure guests feel welcome
Some employees provide excellent service with great attitudes, while others are unhelpful and unfriendly. Itâs frustrating when the same request is made, and one employee will help while another offers excuses and blames others.
