Clean hotel well located in Honeybrook. Charming older hotel. One might slightly hear people walking in the room above, and some noises coming from the plumbing (which was acceptable since the hotel was built in the 1860's). Historic, charming, clean. Nice bar downstairs and continental breakfast in the morning (not the healthiest stuff, but OK). Nice pick while in the region.
No Kleenex in room or hair dryer since apparently people steal. Tried to discuss concerns with male manager but after no response after weekly calls told manager was lady in charge if housekeeping. When called for Kleenex told very busy and 5 h later 2 girls brought up to room together. Place so old. Didnât want to write review and just talk about disorganization
Ac did not work, couldnât find anyone to help, they told me owner will not fix the place up he doesnât care. Heâs been told about ac as per Derek. They gave me a ac unit to vent out the window. Wouldnât refund me anything and we spent over $300 for 2 nights. The shower was horrible. Tub filled up and pressure was horrible in shower, toilet wasnât attached to floor. Only thing that was good was the food before 8 at the pub.
The hotel needs a serious makeover. Itâs sad because itâs very nice on the outside but theyâve let the hotel get old. Rugs are old, walls are broken, and the vents need a serious cleaning. I had asthma every day, my husband got bad allergies and to top it off, looks like they have bed bugs! My husband and I got bitten several times! Iâm so bummed out about this because I truly liked the hotel and the area. Iâve stayed a few times before, but this time has been the worse experience ever. The restaurant has good food but could also use a makeover. I wonât be returning ever again.
For a building built in 1865 this place is awesome, big rooms, clean and great amenities. The attached restaurant and sports bar were great and the service was great.
Check in was easy and staff was extremely friendly. Our king sized room was very roomy and even had a small pull out couch. Bathroom was a bit dated, but it was functional, so that didn't bother us.
We were in the area to celebrate a friend birthday and did not want to drive an hour and a half home so I was able to find this hotel on hotels.com. I never heard of it before but I'm glad that I found it! I thought it was really cute, quaint and nostalgic in a way. The decor Was classic I guess, but I liked it! Not very fancy but also nice. I can't really explain it. Not modern at all, which goes with the hotel itself singing that it was built in 1800s. They managed to keep that feel for the rooms there are upgrades that need to be done in the hallways, etc. but overall I would recommend it. It was clean. It was nice. I slept very well in the bed and it was quiet on the floor overall, I will come back again especially seeing that they have comedy shows and karaoke things at night. We're in the area again I will stay here again
Pushing it for 3.5 star stay. Free parking. Great staff. Large room. Bed comfortable but pillows terrible. Room needs an update. Located in center of town but right on a main junction and my room was about 30 ft from the main traffic light junction in the town. Heard all the traffic all night. Breakfast was adequate but need to update and repair some basics in the rooms and common areas. Toilet didnât flush well. Tables all wobble terribly. Nice outdoor garden area. Bar/restaurant areas have eventsâŠkaraoke, comedy etc
The rooms we had reserved are in need of much updating!! One could go to mediocre motels in the area for similar or less money and be in better shape and their ratings reveal that..
I like this place because it's convenient to a range I go to and it has a good bar and restaurant but the mattress on the bed was so hard I couldn't sleep! I would have been more comfortable on an Army cot! The air conditioning did not work and the room was stifling hot. The staff need to try sleeping on these hellish mattresses, i'm
sure they are the cheapest.
Two night stay. A+ for cleanliness & the attitude of the employees. However - no coffee in the room. Had to go to a different floor to find coffee. However - no water in the Keurig coffee maker & no where to get any except to go back to the room & fill one of the empty water containers sitting close to the Keurig. Don't mean to be picky, but the cost of the rooms should include coffee, other than available at the Continental breakfast on the 1st floor. Bar is nice, but pricey, as is the food.
