Lightbulbs burnt out, lots of plumbing problems, no microwaves in some rooms, no coffee makers, no breakfast, toilet seat, broken, Internet, slow, bathroom fixtures, frozen, no handlebars.
Had to wait 15 minutes after check in time for room to be cleaned, not unusal these days, but room was not very clean. King bed sheets and bed cover had holes. Bed cover seemed old, scratchy. Both were very thin and offered no warmth or comfort. Asked for extra pillows as given only two, desk agent would not provide. Only third to half of hotel occupied on this day. Cigerette butt in sink drain, no smoke detector in room though sprinkler heads exist. No hangers in closet area. No table lamps for bedside reading. Broken lights around pool, and pool gate missing rail so gap existed that children could get through - unsafe. Others were using pool but beware of conditions. Only pro was location to airport for our early flight. If we had not paid in advance for our single night, we would have left. This place is super basic, with zero comfort, obviously no money is being reinvested in the state of the rooms. Pay a little more and go with a chain/name brand. Even motel 6 would be an improvement. Never again! (I have pics but app not loading).
The thing I did like was the location of the property to both Harlingen and San Benito. The things I did not like were the showers. I have stayed here before and the showers are not good. When you pull the diverter valve to turn on the shower head it sticks, so you get water coming out of the shower head and water still coming out of the lower faucet. This causes horrible water pressure.
The kitchen faucet leaked really bad. The shower didnât have any water pressure. There was a live roach (bug) on the bathroom counter when we went in. I woke up to a roach crawling on my hand in the middle of the night.
It was good, Iâm a regular here but this room was with broken appliances like the fridge was not working and one of the lights was broken, which the fridge was more of what set off most of it as we couldnât store cold or anything in the fridge. We had to repair it ourselves. Besides that, the room was fine, just wish theyâd make sure appliances worked more.
They were accommodating when the room I was in didnât have a working ac unit. However after I booked the front desk attendant made us wait for 30min to check in. That was around 4pm
The room itself was spacious and clean, but there wasnât enough towels (we were 4 adults 1 kid), and apparently they didnât have enough to give us more.
I also overheard a gentleman complaining that he had been staying there for a few days and there was no room service being done throughout their stay, so he had to keep going to go ask for fresh towels every day.
The outside property is nice, our room sparse and old. Low water pressure due to corrosion on facet. The extra chair was dirty, bed lumpy, no remote for TV and no extra blanket or pillows. The description said a restaurant, room service, concierge, bar and many other amenities that we didnât see nor would we have tried due to the state of the room. We would have left but had paid for it in advance from the photos and were unsure if we could find another room in a different hotel.
