Property is well maintained with staff constantly cleaning. Grounds are lush and full of interesting plants and flowers. Great bird life and views of the river and surrounds. Rooms spacious and comfortable with coffee, tea and mini bar. Plenty of bot water and privacy. Mosquitoes are in the area but not a problem inside. They offer many services including cooking classes, massage, pool etc. Restaurant was great and staff wonderful. The best part of this property is the work being done for the community. The property also administers a school and teaching program with facilities near by. All in all a great experience.
The biggest problem with this property is that the address is wrong in Expedia. The map and Expedia sent us up a little dirt road in the National park which we had a few close calls coming back down from. When we called the property they said yes we know Expedia has it wrong. But they donât seem to have any interest in fixing it. The property is beautifully landscaped and the staff is very very kind. The first room we had the air conditioner didnât work. It also had an ant bed in the first room. The second room had a spider the size of our hand that lived in the shower rocks but when we looked it up itâs harmless so we left it alone. The other issue with the property is just the price. We stayed at nice resorts for half the price.
I do not usually write hotel reviews, but I must brag on this diamond of a find in northern Thailand. The level of quality found in every aspect of the Maekok River Village Resort was amazing. Dinner at sunset, overlooking the Maekok river was absolutely the best meal I've ever had in Thailand. I will remember it for a lifetime! The extensive gardens with secret pathways was a pleasant surprise. The room was beautifully appointed and the staff were friendly and professional. I give special kudos to the owner who obviously does a great job of training. I highly recommend this resort!
Very impressed how well-kept this resort was. We were given a river kayaking session for FREE(!!) possibly either because we were put together with a group of students (which was really fun in itself) or just the owner was simply nice. Either way we enjoyed it very much.
Lovely place located on the bank of the Kok River.
We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return. The staff is professional, courteous, and goes out of their way to be helpful. The food was very good. We will stay here again when travelling up north.
