Booked for a week. Had only one roll of TP. Had a few cockroaches and can of Raid was only good for one spray. Road noise because Apartment was right on road and cars coming uphill were sometimes very noisy. Water leak around toilet. Lounge room chairs and lounge not comfortable to sit in. Price was good and location close to most attractions but would not return.
The beach view was amazing. Car parking was ample and location was very close to Emily Bay.
No real Wifi to access. The property was overbooked so we had to change rooms halfway through our stay
We were return visitors to Norfolk Island as it is one of our favourite holiday destinations. We love the scenery and the very relaxed feel of the Island. The locals make you feel most welcome. The shopping is not as comprehensive as it used to be but still has a very interesting variety of goods to choose from. Unfortunately the roads have deteriorated significantly and dodging the potholes is a test of a drivers skills. A shame really as a hire car is a necessary component of a holiday on Norfolk. Overall any downside is quickly forgotten when you reach each of the very many scenic spots where the views are simply amazing. The views from the Panorama Apartments are lovely. We will hopefully return sometime in the future.
Its location is well above Kingston, which is a bit of a ghost settlement (as its World Heritage suggests); Kingston proper is the historic former penal colony. Panorama has spectacular views seaward, especially of Philip and Nepean islands. A short downhill walk brings one to the extensive late 18th & 19th-century stone buildings -- and well worth visiting. The Kingston pier is functional and a source of fresh fish to be bought from local fishermen; the sharks await the offal thrown to them. Don't swim either side of the pier! Parking is available outside Panorama. Panorama possesses the usual facilities which one might expect. The owner, Brett, appears to be both affable and helpful; we could not fault him. Washing/drying facilities on the ground floor were most useful. Despite the many potholes on almost every road, your visit will be enhanced by hiring a car. The village of Burnt Pine, source of food, restaurants, services etc.) is otherwise quite a walk away (mostly uphill!). You will enjoy the stillness of the Norfolk Island generally and the clean/clear air which make viewing the stars at night a special treat.
Our unit faced south, so every morning we woke up to a view of Elizabeth Bay. Wonderful.
Host Brett answered all our questions and made suggestions where to eat and what to see.
You will need to rent a car as there is no transportation on the island.
