The best shopping malls and department stores in Kyoto are found clustered close together along the main shopping street of Karasuma Dori. Take the subway to Karasuma Station or Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station and it’s easy to walk along the sheltered sidewalk from one to the other in any weather.

You’ll find an incredible array of items in Kyoto shopping malls, including fashion, sportswear, home furnishings, cosmetics, and excellent food – both groceries and freshly prepared. Kyoto shopping malls stock the best Japanese brands as well as premium products from Europe, US and beyond, meaning you can find just about anything you might need. If you’re buying a gift for a loved one, be sure to tell the staff as most malls offer a wrapping service, complete with pretty little bow.
