Nagasaki on the northwest coast of Kyushu is the site of the nuclear attack that helped end World War II and offers a scenic harbour, culture, arts and history. If you’re interested in reflecting at the nuclear bomb site, head for Peace Park and the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, which consists of a peaceful commemorative park and exhibits documenting the event. For some samurai history, you can visit the Nagasaki Kameyama Shachu Memorial, which commemorates a famous samurai from the Edo period.
