The best shopping opportunities in Kamala Beach are found in the genuine local markets that are held 3 times per week. While Kamala has changed a lot in the past few decades (and is still changing), it somehow retains a good part of its original spirit.
The village is not what you'd call a trendy shopping destination (it leaves that title to its larger neighbour, Patong Beach), but has enough quality stores and plazas to please its visitors. The best shopping options in Kamala feature outdoor markets, shopping plazas, supermarkets and more.

Kamala Friday Market
- Shopping
Kamala Friday Night Market is the equivalent of Phuket Weekend Market or Phuket Walking Street at Kamala’s scale. This market is also known as Fantasea Market due to its location right opposite the famous Fantasea Phuket entertainment complex.
Kamala Friday Night Market has gained a lot in popularity since its creation and its size seems to expand week after week. The goods sold here are the usual suspects: clothing, fashion accessories (bags, hats, scarves), electronic or mechanical gadgets and toys, and so on. The most interesting side of the market is its food section, which offers an incredible choice of delicious local products and ready-made snacks, from tropical fruits to pancakes to satay to sushi.
