The Caravelle is one of those places that probably used to be decent but it is just run down. It is in a bit of a run down area with other Inns in area boarded up, so trade must be tough.
Noise proofing of room was non existent so every noise from streets and neighbours felt like they were in room with me.
I wasn't expecting the Ritz but just basics would be nice. Had to ask for some disposable cup.
For the price it was fine, but it did feel like one of those places in those police dramas, that inevitably are the scene of crime or where you would hide out. :)
First there was only two shower towels and no hand towels, both of them had visible stains. When I asked for more towels they said they didnât have any. The listing also said there was a refrigerator but there wasnât one in the room and when I asked about it they just said nobody was there who can help with that. I had a reservation for 4 days and on the 2nd night I found bed bugs in my bed as well which I took pictures of. When telling the shorter Asian man at the counter about the bed bugs he seemed completely unfazed and just said sorry we are not liable and it makes me think they know about the bed bugs and are not doing anything about it. The younger girl at the counter also would be sitting in the lobby during the posted open hours with the door locked. She would talk to me through the glass and seemed to get frustrated when I said I canât hear her over the traffic which is just rude. The hotel itself was very dirty and even my front door lock didnât work properly. The dead bolt keyhole from the outside was chewed up so the key could not be entered so I could not lock my door safely when leaving my hotel room. Ontop of that the door itself was so crooked the door barely shut and with just the doorknob lock keeping it shut Iâm very confident anybody can easily kick my door in and steal my belongings. My stay at this hotel was horrible and I wouldnât recommend it to anybody. I checked out and went to the Holiday in next door and had an extremely better experience there.
This place looked better in photos, than in person. My room had no hot water, the lamp on the desk was not working, and the floor lamp did not have a light bulb. I had to use one from the bathroom that was not connected. The mattress feels hard and the doors use a key to open, instead of a card. I was unable to turn on the television and there was no microwave oven or refrigerator. Be willing to pay more for quality elsewhere because spending one night in a place like this is not worth it!
Sink not working. The large Refrigerator is very GOOD for longt term stay. The King bed is good. I forgot my DL and a Credit Card there, NEVER can call the front desk. The phone listed on Internet is inactive. I had to contact Expedia staff, ask them to send an email. I will not stay there anymore. Price is reasonable, but service is no good.
