The Finest Punta Cana had a lot of potential, but unfortunately fell short in several key areas during our stay. The location and beach were quite nice, but the overall experience was marred by poor service and substandard food and beverage quality.
The staff, while friendly enough, often seemed disinterested and inattentive. On multiple occasions, we had to call to request our room be cleaned, even though we had the "make up room" sign displayed from early in the morning. The general sense was that the staff were just going through the motions, rather than providing the high level of service one would expect at a resort of this caliber.
The food was a major disappointment. Approximately 80% of the time, the meals we were served were simply not edible. The quality and freshness were lacking, and the preparation was often sloppy. The cocktails were also poorly made, using cheap, low-quality liquor. Even the wine selection was surprisingly poor, with options that were barely drinkable.
While the resort itself and the beach were nice, the execution across the board was simply subpar. It seems that management may be struggling to maintain standards and provide a truly high-end experience. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Finest Punta Cana based on our stay. There are likely better options in the area that can deliver a more enjoyable and memorable vacation.
