I'm not certain why it is called 'Hotel Vue.' It is certainly not because it is easy to see at night (it is definitely not), nor because of a scenic view from the small balcony, which (for me) overlooked the parking lot. I am hoping it is not because anyone/everyone outside (in said parking lot) had a full view of me naked inside my room. The only curtains that cover the whole balcony window are sheer; with the light on, at night, inside the room, I am fairly sure people could see right thru them.
The hotel is a little worn around the edges, but that was ok. Except for the bathroom, which had visible mildew stains in grout & caulking. The breakfast was good; the staff was friendly & helpful. Very strange was how poor the signage & lighting is out front. The hotel name is not apparent at all on the building--the building's exterior lighting, front & center (where a hotel name would normally be found), is quite dim or just absent. There is one Hotel Vue sign by the street; however, the sign is mono-chromatic--not lit-- & is almost invisible in the dark. If you don't know that the hotel is right past the big Tire place on the corner (which has a great beacon of a sign), then you're likely to drive right by this place several times....like I did.
