It is located on a farm with lots of space to walk and sit, and a small lake which adds a nice charm to the setting. Nice rooms with shared baths, and a fine breakfast selection using locally sourced products
Our visit was in early November after two snowfalls. The property is a beautiful century plus old farm. The snow reduced our ability to fully enjoy the walking trails. The house is full of character and staying there was a stop in history. Susan is lovely. She greeted us with hot tea and fresh pumpkin muffins made from her harvested pumpkins. Her food is locally harvested and homemade. Even her jams.
Staying with Susan was reminiscent of when I was a child and weâd stay with family when we traveled. Her home and property are lovely, her breakfasts, including homemade jams, syrup, and grape juice, were delicious, and her hospitality was second to none. It kinda felt like being home and having someone looking after you â„ïž
The bedroom we stayed in was comfortable and we had a designated washroom right across the hall.
I will definitely visit again in future and would recommend for anyone looking for this kind of experience, rather than a cold, impersonal hotel experience.
Frontier House is in a lush and gorgeous location steeped in nature. We loved staying in the history filled farm house with its private lake, a donkey and sheep grazing outside our window, and flocks of waterfowl and songbirds. Host Susan Proven has a host of stories to tell and serves up delicious breakfasts and other treats. A lovely, relaxing getaway.
The house is not located in Minnedosa as advertised.
It is a beautiful house in a beautiful location, but very isolated.
We were the only guests, but if there had been another guest we would of had to share a small bathroom. I want aware of this
It was a great time living in Susan's home. Clean house, lovely farm, delicious breakfast, welcomed SusanâŠeverything there was wonderful!! I'm sure we'll visit there again later.
