The hotel was just average. The rooms were basic, but clean. The TV was leaning and had a line through it and was grainy. One elevator didn’t work on my side the entire visit. Upon check in, we were asked to download the Riu app. I did and it was very useful, until it wasn’t. We wanted to have dinner at the steakhouse. The app clearly said reservations weren’t required. When we got there we were told you had to put your name on a list. When I went to the front desk about it the manager, Juan Brito (I think was his last name) was rude, and when I asked his name he marched up on me, nose to nose and said welcome to the Dominican Republic. I can guarantee if I were a man he wouldn’t have done that. The food was edible, not great. There were plenty of activities on the property. In all, I wouldn’t go back.
