not such a good stay
I didn’t sleep well due to a faint noise in the room. I couldn’t understand where it was coming from, might have been the aircon. I was in room 421. Also the adjoining room the guests were noising. The breakfast how was very good

8/10 Very Good

Indifferent staff, declining hotel.
I have been becoming very disappointed in what has happened to a once pleasant and welcoming place to stay. I was disappointed in the check in process last September when I was there, but this time it was even worse. I had responded to an offer through the hotel to upgrade the room, which I took as even though it was a business trip my husband was accompanying me. On check in I asked if that offer had been applied and was told it was. Upon getting to the room assigned, it was a 4th floor attic room with small low windows. It was dark and sparsely furnished. On my previous visit I had asked that I NOT be given a 4th floor room. This made me very angry, and when I spoke to the front desk, I informed them , that not only did they offer me an upgrade they showed me the room type I would be given which was on the 2nd floor. The person on the desk immediately changed the room, not acknowledging anything I said, which tells me if I were a stupid traveller, she would have pawned off. A bad room for more money. I have stayed in the Sussex for more than 10 years. to return and have no ne look at preferences or concerns from a Pryor trip, just tells me management doesn't care about the guests. Through the earlier years there was staff to greet and help with bags, this is gone. There used to be a manager present during the day. Now it is simply a bunch of girls that look like they are still in training. To finish, you have lost a long time customer.

Rather disappointing.
Very small rooms and VIP status not even acknowledged or mentioned at check-in and for the cost of the room well over priced.

Great location, good amenities
Great central location close to shopping and Marble Arch tube station so access to everywhere via the tube network. The hotel is a little tired in places but they are undergoing a refurb so that should be sorted. One quibble - in our room there were two sets of steps so yes we did trip up a couple of times and there are no power sockets by the bed so we couldn’t easily charge our phones.

Great for a short stay if you get room 215
Everything about the hotel was almost great - the breakfast, staff, service and location were excellent! 20 min walk to the London palladium. The hotel is a little strange though - the corridors are soooo small and our room was facing out to an empty square space below and some kind of office building opposite - felt a little oppressive - but hey we were only there for 1 night so definitely served its purpose and everything else was fab.

Fantastic location, great beds
I really like staying here and have done so several times. The location is wonderful, with all the shopping on Oxford Street, Marylebone and Mayfair. As a solo traveller it is also convenient that they have an onsite restaurant. The staff is very helpful and I even got an upgrade when I mentioned how much I had liked my room the previous time. The only very small comment is that my room looked tired and could be fixed up a bit. But I have to say that the beds and bedding are the best in London.

Room was tiny and located in the stairwell. So can hear everyone coming and going. The room was basically a closet located inside a stairwell. Won't be staying again.

I have been staying here for many years. This trip I was extremely disappointed. Check in was disorganized. The hotel itself is starting to show wear with dirty carpets and the elevator impossible with staff using it as well as guests. All the longtime staff that was there for years is gone, replaced with a young and not so knowledgeable staff. Also when I mentioned I that I had been there in December, the person at the front desk said I wouldn't remember so many people stay here. I have to rethink staying here after probably 8 years of staying there 2 to 3 times a year.
