We started really bad as at the reception, when I asked where do we have breakfast, this lady at the reception called Maria, immediately said that breakfast was not included in our plan, which was incorrect as breakfast was the cardinal condition for our choosing the room. In fact it was stated in the confirmation that breakfast was included. She told us that it was not recorded as such in the exchanges between expedia (I thought it was Hotels.com, but I suppose you are making money by selling our data) and the hotel. We showed the confirmation and Maria would still not believe and kept us for a good half an hours. i told that this is a problem between you (the hotel) and expedia and even if we the customer wait for anything we cannot add any contribution. I asked her if there was a remote possibility that we don’t get breakfast, she had difficulties in replying to this simple question. She said if we paid we’ll get it however that is out of the question as we paid and the confirmation stated as such and her doubt never went away, is it because we are Japanese and she is a racist? She finally gave us the hotel card with a check on breakfast included, however in the morning we were rejected and went to the reception again. The manager was very helpful and he issued the coupons and told us that he would resolve the issue with you or expedia, which is what should have been done in the first place. That really ruined the beginning of an otherwise great holiday in brussels.
