First, the good! The property is beautiful, the pools are lovely, it’s a great location on the beach in Nueva Nyarta, and the room was large, spacious and clean.
But there were concerns that outweighed these features.
The most important was concern for safety procedures regarding food handling.
This was my fourth all-inclusive in Mexico, and by far the worst for food handling in terms of quality and safety. All four resorts were similarly rated by tour companies, so I was confident in booking this resort that I was getting a similar experience.
My sister got Montezuma’s Revenge from the food and was sick for three days. We had not left the hotel in 36 hours so could not blame it on another location.
We had stayed at another nearby all-inclusive two months previously, where food handling procedures were vastly different. In the previous hotel, staff checked the temperature of buffet foods regularly to ensure they had not spent too long sitting out in the warm weather.
The restaurant food was much better than the buffet, although we had been given incorrect information on our check-in at the Altitude Club about the date and time to make dinner reservations. As a result we did not always get the reservations we had hoped for. I had asked for a call from the Altitude Club manager regarding this, but did not receive a call-back.
Internet connection was another concern. The internet was often inaccessible or kept crashing.
I would not return to any Krystal Resort.
