We had a fantastic stay at Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit. The property was sparkling clean, both inside and out, and provided a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the AI option worked out perfectly. La Estancia features one restaurant and a pool bar, but guests can also enjoy the restaurants at the nearby Villa del Palmar Flamingos. Be sure to read the terms and explanations provided at check-in to avoid extra charges for certain premium dishes and wines. Additionally, the resort charges a $15 daily service fee. While the property is compact, you can walk for miles along the beach. The pool area is great, and during our low-season visit, we had no trouble finding available loungers. The beach is lovely, with no seaweed or rocks, making it perfect for swimming. Water activities are offered at nearby resorts, and massages on the beach are available for $30 per hour (not affiliated with the resort). If you need assistance planning or booking tours and excursions, there's a tour office at VDP Flamingos. The staff is friendly and hardworking, and tips are much appreciated. The bellboys can quickly arrange taxis for you, and taxi prices are mostly fixed (you'll receive the prices at check-in). Currency exchange is also available at VDP.
The only downside was the horse-riding tours on the beach, which leave waste behind. I spoke with the manager about this, but it seems there’s little that can be done. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.
