Southern Food & Drink Museum highlights
The numerous exhibits truly stand tall as the highlight of the Southern Food & Drink Museum. The Leah Chase Louisiana Gallery is particularly appealing, as it shows off Creole cooking, including the masterpieces crafted by the renowned chef Leah Chase. The Tout de Sweet exhibit showcases the role of sugar in Louisiana cuisine and beyond.
Other exhibits include one that focuses on the Gulf of Mexico and another focused on Nashville and the women who carried down recipes through their families. Don't forget to check out the Al Copeland exhibit to learn how his recipes put the Popeyes restaurant chain on the map.
Good to know when visiting Southern Food & Drink Museum
When you visit the Southern Food & Drink Museum, you should keep a few things in mind. First, as appetising as they might appear, the exhibits do not offer any food you can actually eat during your visit. Often enough, however, the museum hosts special events, including demonstrations and tastings where you can get a bite to eat.
This museum is on the eastern side of the Central City area, so you'll find yourself close to quite a few other attractions. The McKenna Museum of African American Art is just to the south, and Coliseum Square Park is nearby as well.
