The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod towers above the rest of Las Vegas and offers games, luxury restaurants, thrill rides, and speciality shops. Given the number of attractions available, this destination can easily turn into the home base of your Vegas holiday, allowing you to access seemingly endless fun just steps away from your accommodation. The casino games are located at the base of the tower, while the upper levels include lounges, a restaurant, and observation decks.

The gambling age in Vegas is 21, so the hotel and casino cater to adults looking to have fun without any distractions, though minors can ride the rides with a parent or guardian. It takes about an hour or so to try out all the thrill rides, while the casino at the bottom of the tower can have people gaming all night.

The second is known as X-Scream, and it overhangs the edge of the tower, allowing passengers to see just how high they are as the single car rolls back and forth. Insanity is a more extreme kind of ride that dangles off the edge of the tower and spins at speeds of up to 40 mph. Finally, the SkyJump Las Vegas is a controlled-descent bungee jumping ride in which riders fall 855 feet.

The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod history

The casino and tower began conceptually as little more than a sign. In the 1970s, a casino and hotel called Vegas World was situated on the STRAT's current location. The owner wanted to create a neon sign tower for Vegas World that reached a height of 1,012 feet. Shortly after his original design was submitted, the tower was redesigned to include an observation deck. Eventually, it was meant to be a symbol for Vegas, similar to the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Empire State Building in New York.

The final design was approved in the early 1990s, and construction began in 1992. It opened in 1996, though it had trouble returning the financial costs of its construction. Over the following years, it changed hands a few times and went through several name changes before The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod was finalised in early 2020.
